Boston ABCD Leadership Retreat
In June, Action for Boston Community Development Boston ABCD held a transformative Senior Leadership Retreat in the heart of Boston, dedicated to enhancing team cohesion and effectiveness. Per their mission, “ABCD builds pathways out of poverty in partnership with families and communities so that everyone can thrive.” This pivotal event brought together the organization’s top leaders for an immersive experience focused on strengthening their collaborative efforts and strategic alignment. The retreat underscored Boston ABCD's commitment to fostering a unified and dynamic senior leadership team capable of driving their mission forward with renewed energy and purpose.
The retreat was expertly led by Edwin Vega, Leadership & Team Coaching Expert from Mosaic Coaching Solutions (MCS). With his extensive experience in leadership development and team dynamics, Edwin guided the senior leaders through a series of engaging segments and activities designed to boost trust, enhance communication, and cultivate a culture of shared vision and accountability. His approach emphasized practical strategies and tools that leaders can implement immediately to improve their interactions and decision-making processes.
Hosting the retreat was Boston ABCD's CEO, Sharon Scott-Chandler, whose visionary leadership has been instrumental in steering the organization towards even greater impact in the community. Sharon's involvement in the retreat demonstrated her commitment to investing in the professional growth and unity of her leadership team. Her insights and active participation helped to create an environment of openness and collaboration, setting the stage for meaningful progress and innovation within Boston ABCD. The retreat marked a significant step forward in the organization's ongoing journey towards excellence and community service.
Fun Fact: we happened to be in the area the night of game 5 of the NBA Finals, where their Celtics became World Champions for a record-breaking 18th time, the most in NBA history.
